We are learning about matter and we are learning that the materials we use depends on what the purpose is. We made paper boats and realized that paper will dissolve in water even though it will float for a short time. So we had a lot of fun making boats out of Styrofoam. They were a lot sturdier and did not dissolve.
2-PS1-2. Test different materials and analyze the data obtained to determine which materials have the properties that are best suited for an intended purpose.*
Clarification Statements:
• Examples of properties could include, color, flexibility, hardness, texture, and absorbency.
• Data should focus on qualitative and relative observations.

Bubbles and Science
We had a lot of fun doing our experiment with bubbles to prove that gas takes up space.
Take a peek at us proving this!

Halloween Fun!
We had a fun time celebrating Halloween in our class. We did some Halloween schoolwork to start off our morning. Then we went to the café to have our sing-a-long with our schoolmates. After that we marched in the Halloween Parade outside to see all of you. We ended our celebration with a Halloween snack and watching Discover Ed "Halloween Fun Facts". Thanks to everyone who helped make our day special! Take a peek at a few pics!
Essential Question: How did Halloween come about?
Halloween Fun Fact: Tootsie Rolls were the first wrapped penny candy in America.
Halloween Fun Fact: The ancient Celts thought that spirits and ghosts roamed the countryside on Halloween night. They began wearing masks and costumes to avoid being recognized as human.
I'll leave you with this joke:
What did the mother ghost say to her children ghosts in the car?
Fasten your sheet belts.
