Room 108 has talent!

Friday night was the Cole School Talent Show. It was a great hit. Thanks to our own Mrs. McCann for all the hard work she did!
We had many performers in the show. Unfortunately, my camera would not zoom in but I am posting anyway in order to give the boys and girls a shout out!
Nice job! Please take a peek below!

GREAT JOB BOYS AND GIRLS! IT WAS SUCH A FUN NIGHT!

"Students also experience a boost in self-esteem when performing. When their hard work and preparation finally comes to fruition, students see and feel the benefit of their labor. Through speaking lines or a singing a song on stage, kids gain self-confidence and self-esteem."

I'll leave you with this joke:

Thank you to everyone for coming to our Open House. It was great having you all come and see all our hard work. We hope you enjoyed it! Take a peek:

Standard

Topic 3. History: migrations and cultures [2.T3]
Supporting Question: What are the different reasons people choose to settle in a community?

1. Investigate reasons why people migrate (move) to different places around the world, recognizing that some migration is voluntary, some forced (e.g., refugees, people driven from their homelands, enslaved people).
2. Give examples of why the United States is called "a nation of immigrants"
3. Conduct interviews with family members, neighbors, friends, or school staff to discover
where their families came from, how and why they moved to where they now live, and when and why their families came to Massachusetts.
4. Identify what individuals and families bring with them (e.g., memories, cultural traits, goods, ideas, and languages or ways of speaking) when they move to a different place and identify the significant impacts of migration; identify elements that define the culture of a society (e.g., language, literature, arts, religion, traditions, customs); explain how the community is enriched by contributions from all the people who form it today.

I'll leave you with this joke:

Q: Knock, knock----Who's There?----Ashe----Ashe who?
A: Bless you!

Author and illustrator

We had such a wonderful time getting to know Timothy Basil Ering!
He has written and illustrated many of our favorite books. Please look at the pictures below and ask us about our learning experience. Enjoy!
