Heat and Light

This past week we learned about the sun, light, shadows and heat. We had a great time going into a pinball machine with Ms. Frizzle to experience the properties of light and color. She also took us to the Artic to  help us learn about heat. In addition to that we did experiments that taught us about our shadows, refraction, light rays and more. Ask us about our learning and be sure to check out the folders we brought home on Friday!

Talent Show

We had two students in our class participate in the talent show! Congratulations to Ryan and Madie! They gave wonderful performances! (Sorry for the quality of the videos - it was a full house!)

“Hide not your talents, they for use were made,
What's a sundial in the shade?”
                                                         Benjamin Franklin

This is a new children's book about A.J. and the Talent Show. The message is great!
There is a bit of a sales pitch at the end of the reading. Just an FYI!

Read Across America....Cole School style!

Fun Fact:
Today is National Read Across America Day and many students are celebrating through books and other events.
The National Education Association started this event in 1998. They picked March 2 since it's the birthday of Dr. Seuss, one of the most popular children's writers.
Many schools and libraries will participate in the celebration this week.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
