A working snack

Sometimes we have a "working" snack. Of course the boys and girls think it is a "playing" snack!
This interactive game is a lot of fun. These are the rules:
* We have four groups
* Each student gets a turn to come to the SmartBoard  to roll the "dice"
* Once the question is displayed that child needs to join his/her group to collaborate to get an answer
* That student comes back to the SmartBoard to select the answer that the group agreed on

Below are some pictures of our class playing. Please notice how difficult these problems are. There was only one wrong answer in the entire game. We are amazing!

notice the excitement - Hunter rolled doubles

Time!

 We are learning how to tell and write time to the hour and half hour. We practiced with our April partners. One partner set a time on the clock, and the other partner wrote that time on the white board.
We practiced several times and then switched jobs and practiced again! We had fun practicing!

Jack and The Beanstalk

The Frog Prince

Fairy tales are wonderful ways to look at classic stories, and they are also terrific opportunities to explore the Common Core Standards  (Standards R.L.1.3 through R.L.6.3, which ask students to be able to describe characters, setting, plot, and the details of stories) by looking at the texts’ strong themes, characters, and settings.
