Fast changes to earth's surface

We finished up our module on slow changes to earth's surface and we understand the effects of erosion and weathering on our land. Now we've begun our learning on fast changes to earth's surface.
We created a mountain with buildings and trees and then tapped and twisted our trays. It didn't take long for our buildings and trees to fall and slide and for the land to show cracks in it. Was it an earthquake that caused a landslide?  Take a peek at us in action!

Essential Question: What causes the surface of earth to change quickly?

Earthquake facts for kids

I'll leave you with this joke:

Q: What do cows produce during an earthquake?
A: Milkshake!

Holidays around the world!

Below are 2 examples of a recent project that we did in class. The students were very excited about making these Agamographs! An Agamograph is a series of images that change at different angles. This work is named after the Israeli sculptor, Yaacov Agam who was born in 1928 and is still live today. This artist is known for his optical and kinetic art.
Don't forget to check out our artwork in the hallway when you come for your conference!!
