heritage

We had a great time learning about our heritage.

Immigration Day.....we had to carry our pillow cases with us everywhere we went. Even at recess!

We also got to share 3 of the essential items we chose to put in our bags. It was amazing to see what each of us chose as "essential".

Thanks for coming to our Open House and viewing our artifacts! It was nice to have you here!

Hope you enjoyed viewing our timelines, biopoems, venn diagrams, and top 10 lists!

Essential Question: What have we learned from our family?

Me and my family tree

I'll leave you with this joke:

Q: Why did grandma put wheels on her rocking chair?
A: She wanted to rock and roll!

Book Buddies from Masco

We were lucky to have 5 book buddies from Masco!
Thank you for reading with us Erin O'Brien, Simon Berents, Amanda Donobedian, Mckenzie Taylor, and Sam Brockelman! These students wrote stories and then shared them with us. We were in groups and got to hear 3 different stories. They were amazing!

Learning about Heritage!

We are learning about heritage and enjoyed reading the "Matchbox Diary".
Heritage: traditions, values, culture, language, stories, and personal traits that families have.
We are working on a poster "10 things that you need to know about me". These 10 things represent what we value in our lives. You'll get to enjoy all of our posters at the Open House on March 29th.
Watch for the invitation.

Essential Question: What are ways people respect and pass on their traditions and customs.

liquids

      Inquiry Activity --- Measuring Liquids:

We made predictions on how high the same amount of water would be in each of the different containers. We drew our predictions on a data table. Then we filled the different containers with the same amount of water  to see where the water level was.
Take a peek at us in action!

Essential Question: What happens to the shape of water in different containers?

What is a liquid?

I'll leave you with this joke:
What did the ice cube say to the glass of water?
I was water but then I got cool!

Winter Audubon

We had a great time at our inside Audubon Field Experience on Wednesday. We studied about local animals in the winter and Celia got to dress up as a water fowl. We studied insect and plant life too. Also, we learned how different birds gather their food based on the type of beak they have.
It was great fun. Of course, we ended with journaling!
Take a peek at us in action! Ask us what is happening!

I'll leave you with this joke:
