Winter Audubon

We had a great time at our inside Audubon Field Experience on Wednesday. We studied about local animals in the winter and Celia got to dress up as a water fowl. We studied insect and plant life too. Also, we learned how different birds gather their food based on the type of beak they have.
It was great fun. Of course, we ended with journaling!
Take a peek at us in action! Ask us what is happening!

2-LS4-1. Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats. [Clarification Statement: Emphasis is on the diversity of living things in each of a variety of different habitats.] [Assessment Boundary: Assessment does not include specific animal and plant names in specific habitats.]
How Birds Survive The Winter

I'll leave you with this joke:
Q: Why do seagulls fly over the sea?
A: Because if they flew over the bay, they’d be baygulls!
